  1. Eating barbecue ribs on his birthday is a tradition for my dad and I. I have (often) had food from City Butcher but he had yet to experience the superlative food City Butcher prepares. For his 81st birthday I treated he and my mother to a slab of ribs (with a variety of the sauces) & City Butcher cole slaw (sorry, my mother made the potato salad at home:). EVERYONE agreed that the ribs from City Butcher WERE THE BEST THEY HAVE EVER HAD IN THEIR LIFE!


  2. Hello great BBQ…

    We will be in from Minnesota next week visiting family. My daughter & I love BBQ which no offense to our Minnesota friends, but they simply don’t know how to Q it up.

    Our family there recommends your place as the only one to go to in Springfield.

    Challenge is, our thing is burnt ends and I see by your menu you have them mon-wed only and we’ll be there next thurs-sat only.

    Figured it was worth a shot to see if they could be preordered for one of those days?



  3. Best in town without question.

    My wife and I met a few friends for lunch on a Sunday. We shared a slab of ribs, beans, brisket chili and the pig bird. Everything was incredible. The staff was very friendly. We all had more than enough food and our check was less than $10 each. The pickles alone are worth a visit. Nothing but greatness.
